President & Founder
Mary Griffith founded AVISTA Strategies in 2012 to deliver specialized expertise and support in Market Intelligence, Capture & Proposal, Contract Execution, and Infrastructure Strengthening, helping growing companies successfully target and partner with government agencies.
Mary has over 30 years of experience in government contracting. She previously served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for ASRC Federal, the parent company of Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI), and as Senior Vice President of Operations and Strategy for ASI. Over her 12 years with ASI, she managed contracts, procurement, program control, pricing, property, security, communications, marketing, and the proposal center. Earlier roles include Senior Contract Administrator for Dynetics, Inc. and Business Advisor for Battelle Memorial Institute.
Mary holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Contract Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a B.S.B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). She also has an Advanced Professional Designation in Contract Management from UAH and the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and is a former Certified Federal Contracts Manager.
Mary has an extensive background in Federal Acquisition Regulations, Small Business regulations, and GSA Schedule contracting. She has successfully led large teams executing Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. Additionally, she served on the GSA IT Industry Government Council (IGC) and the GSA Services IGC. In 2013, she collaborated with local GSA representatives to establish the Huntsville/Tennessee Valley GSA Industry Working Group.
A dedicated member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Huntsville Chapter, Women in Defense (WID), Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), and the Huntsville Association of Small Businesses in Advanced Technology (HASBAT). Mary also serves on the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Small Business Executive Leadership Team. She actively advocates for small businesses and educates the community on emerging small business issues.
She is married to Jim, has three daughters, Elizabeth, Caitlin and Taylor, and two granddaughters, and loves gardening and traveling.
